On show: from 3 August to 7 September 2025 at Walgenbach Art & Books in Rotterdam, NL
Ein Kunst-Projekt rund um ein Zollhäuschen an der Französisch-Schweizerischen Grenze im Dezember und Januar 2024/25 bei Hegenheim. Das Projekt beinhaltet einen performativen Spaziergang «Besuch der Grenze», einen dazugehörigen Text. Es sind Fotoprints entstanden und eine künstlerische Intervention im Zollhäuschen.
Die künstlerische Arbeit basiert auf Fotografien, welche ich in dem Zollhäuschen gefunden habe. Verblasst und beinahe aufgelöst erzählen sie von Unbekanntem, sie lösen einen Schwall von Vermutungen und unbeantworteten Fragen aus. Wer sind die Menschen auf den Fotos? Wem haben diese gehört? Warum hat der Mensch die Fotos hier liegen lassen? Was hat er hier gemacht? Wie viel Zeit hat er hier verbracht? wie ist es ihm ergangen? wo ist dieser Mensch heute? Hat er sein Glück gefunden?

An art project centred around a customs house on the French-Swiss border as part of the exhibition ‘From Chaos to Order and Back’ at FABRIKculture in Hegenheim in December and January 2024/25. The project includes a performative walk called ‘Visit to the Border,’ an accompanying text, and photo prints and an artistic intervention in the customs house.
The artistic work is based on photographs that the artist found in the customs house. Faded and almost dissolved, they tell of the unknown, triggering a flood of assumptions and unanswered questions. Who are the people in the photos? Who did they belong to? Why did the person leave the photos here? What did the person do here? How much time did the person spend here? What happened to the person? Where is the person today? Did he find contentment?
